DETROIT, Mich. (WNEM) – It was a loud and packed house at Little Caesars arena as the Detroit Pistons hosted the Boston Celtics in their Home Opener.
Detroit’s coming off their first win of the season when they beat Houston on Friday and this hot home crowd wanted to see win number two.
The Pistons came out the gate slow though with Jaylen Brown carving up Detroit’s defense. Brown had a game-high 41 points for Boston.
The Celtics led by 17 at one point but the Pistons fought their way back.
Tobias Harris got things going to start, scoring 14 of his 18 total points in the 1st half.
Jalen Duren would be a force all night down low, grabbing 18 rebounds and 24 points with Ausar Thompson also coming alive in the 2nd half to have 21 points and 8 boards.
Detroit would take the lead and be up by 15 in the 3rd quarter and despite a late Boston comeback, the Pistons shut the door with Cade Cunningham leading the way with a team-high 25 points.
The Pistons beat the Celtics in the home opener tonight 119-113.
