The container was removed by the officers from Williams’ suitcase and tested for THC. Brandon Williams was arrested on charges of “knowingly possessing marijuana” after the test proved positive.Williams confirmed that another person had packed his bag when he was in custody. He was taken to the airport jail after he was put under arrest. He currently stands accused of possessing less than two ounces of marijuana in his possession.As reported, Williams told the authorities that the backpack was loaded by his manager. He was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana at about 10:02 a.m. Williams was later released after the arrest went through without any incident. As far as Williams’ arrest is concerned, the Dallas Mavericks have yet to issue a statement.Williams’ fate for forthcoming games is still unknown, and the organization has not released an official statement regarding the arrest. Marijuana possession under two ounces is a Class B misdemeanor in Texas, which carries penalties and possible jail time. It’s unclear if Williams will be subject to additional discipline from the Mavericks organization or the NBA.
