The Atlanta Hawks (1-3) visit the Brooklyn Nets (0-4) tonight at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, looking to bounce back after two consecutive losses.

Atlanta opened the season with a 138–118 loss to the Toronto Raptors but rebounded with a hard-fought 111–107 win over the Orlando Magic. Since then, the Hawks have dropped two straight — falling to the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder and then suffering a narrow five-point loss to the Chicago Bulls on Monday.

Those losses for the Hawks have come despite Kristaps Porzingis making his first starts for Atlanta. He’s provided a big boost to their offense, averaging 23.5 points through two games while shooting an efficient 55% from the field and 54% from beyond the arc. But his impact defensively and on the boards remains limited. He grabbed just two rebounds against the Bulls.

Brooklyn, meanwhile, is still seeking its first win of the season after dropping its first four contests. The Nets have allowed more than 130 points in three of those games, with the worst defense in the NBA. Their offensive rhythm has also faltered as of late, averaging just 108 points over their last two outings against the Houston Rockets and San Antonio Spurs.

Rookie Egor Demin, who tallied 14 points in 22 minutes in his NBA debut last week, is expected to return to action tonight and could give Brooklyn a much-needed scoring boost from the perimeter.

Predictions

The Hawks have the two-way balance to come out on top tonight, though expect the Nets to come out of their low-scoring stretch tonight against a more porous Atlanta defense. But Brooklyn will falter, thanks to a much worse defense.

Prediction: Hawks 124, Nets 118
