As you build your fantasy basketball lineups for tonight’s DraftKings contests, check out Zach Thompson’s top three NBA DFS stacks to target.

On Wednesday, the NBA continues a busy week with seven games on the main slate on DraftKings, which tips off at 7:00 p.m. ET. Even with just over a week of data to consider, some favorable matchups are emerging, and some teams are standing out as strong options to build around. With 14 teams in the player pool on Wednesday, there is no shortage of options, but there are a couple of key NBA DFS stacks to consider building around.

Today’s daily injury report has a few key names to monitor, led by Pelicans star Zion Williamson (foot, questionable). Make sure to check back for updates to the injury report before the action tips off at 7 p.m. ET.

The NBA DFS main slate includes a variety of contests and pay-out structures on DraftKings, headlined by the NBA $350K Zone Special [$100K to 1st].

Indiana Pacers at Dallas Mavericks

The Pacers were going to have a new look this season with Myles Turner in Milwaukee and Tyrese Haliburton (Achilles) sidelined to start the year. However, the adjusted rotation has also been wiped out by injuries, leaving the players who are left to carry a huge workload. On Wednesday in Dallas, they’ll be without Bennedict Mathurin (toe), Andrew Nembhard (shoulder), Obi Toppin (foot) and T.J. McConnell (hamstring) in addition to Haliburton. Even though the Mavericks are favored and the game total isn’t high, the remaining Pacers will have to carry so much work, they bring great upside as a stack.

Core Plays: The one key piece the Pacers still have is Pascal Siakam ($8,400), who has been outstanding in his expanded role this year, producing over 60 DraftKings points in two of his three games. Any Pacers stack starts with him at the core, since he’s such a multi-category contributor who should also have plenty of usage and upside. Ben Sheppard ($4,200) has played big minutes in each of the first three games as well, producing 36.5 fantasy points in the opener but struggling with his shot on Sunday in his most recent contest.

Value Options: RayJ Dennis ($3,800) is set up for more work in the backcourt and makes a great value play to stack with Siakam or use independently as a bargain with good upside. He had 31.5 fantasy points on Sunday with 12 points, five assists, three blocks and two steals, so he could bring elite value if he gets playing time and contributes in so many categories. Jarace Walker ($4,500) has also been a good value play with 20+ fantasy points in each of the first three games and more work could potentially be coming his way without Toppin available. Tony Bradley ($3,500) will also pick up work without Toppin, especially since the team released James Wiseman, who started on Saturday.

Denver Nuggets vs. New Orleans Pelicans

The Nuggets have the highest implied team total on the board as they host the Pelicans, who could be without Zion Williamson. They should be a good matchup for the Nuggets with or without Zion, and Denver has scored over 125 points in each of its three games this season. It is a little more traditional option in my NBA DFS stacks than the Pacers, since it actually has more pieces available.

Core Plays: It definitely helps your offense when you can build around Nikola Jokic ($11,500), who has started the year with three straight triple-doubles, earning 60.2, 62 and 72.8 fantasy points. Jamal Murray ($7,800) has been a great sidekick to The Joker, producing over 20 points and over 40 fantasy points in each of his three games to start the year. His best game was his 43-point outburst in Minnesota on Monday.

Value Options: If you start with those spend-up superstars, you might need to go with some more affordable plays around them, and the Nuggets have some interesting options there as well since Cameron Johnson ($5,800; shoulder, questionable) could be sidelined after leaving the team’s last game early. If he’s out, that could mean more time for Tim Hardaway Jr. ($3,900), who stepped up with 20 points and 27.8 fantasy points on Monday. Peyton Watson ($3,700) has also been a good value contributor, playing 20 minutes per game and boosting his production to 22.5 fantasy points in the game Johnson had to leave early.

Atlanta Hawks at Brooklyn Nets

It’s still a very small sample size, but so far the Nets have the worst defensive rating in the NBA. They’ve begun the year 0-4 and have allowed their opponents to score an NBA-leading 130.5 points per game. The Hawks walk into this spot ranking No. 11 in the NBA in pace, and they are the only team that comes close to matching the Nuggets’ implied team total on Wednesday night.

Core Plays: While Trae Young ($9,100) always brings a high ceiling and the potential for a monster game, he’s also extremely expensive. As more affordable plays that also bring lots of upside, Jalen Johnson ($8,200; ankle, probable) has posted over 40 fantasy points in his two full games, and Onyeka Okongwu ($6,800) has posted at least 34 fantasy points in three straight games, including 18 points, 10 rebounds and 40 fantasy points on Monday against the Bulls. Kristaps Porzingis ($7,000) has also been a good fit, dropping 27 points in 26 minutes for 33.5 fantasy points on Monday.

Value Options: On the cheaper end, Nickeil Alexander-Walker ($5,200) has been excellent out of the gate for his new team as well. He has scored at least 10 points and produced at least 25 fantasy points in each of his four games this season. He has started and came off the bench, producing good numbers in both roles. Luke Kennard ($3,700) has brought a nice spark in 20+ minutes off the bench in each game, and Asa Newell ($3,100) and Vit Krejci ($3,200) had good performances while filling in when regulars had to sit. Newell and Krejci could be great bargain plays if they get playing time, but their roles are less certain with everyone healthy. There is some garbage time potential, though, if the Hawks open up a big lead early.
