2024-25 season series: Atlanta won 2-1
Atlanta destroyed the Indiana Pacers 128-108 on Halloween while covering as a 2-point favorite as the Over (232.5) hit. With G Trae Young out for the contest with a knee injury, it was a team effort for the Hawks that made up for his absence as 7 players scored in double-figures in the win. The Hawks held the Pacers to 35.4% shooting from the field and 27.7% shooting from deep Friday.
Cleveland was handed a 112-101 loss by the Toronto Raptors on Halloween while failing to cover as a 4.5-point favorite with the Under (237) cashing. The Cavs were missing All-Star G Donovan Mitchell and 2 other starters. F Evan Mobley put up an efficient 29 points with 8 boards and 4 stocks while G De’Andre Hunter scored 26 and F Jalen Tyson had 18, No other Cavs player reached 10 points.

PASS.
With injuries a factor, both teams will look very different in terms of style of play from what they normally look like. With so many unknowns, pass on the ML and look to the spread and/or total instead.
BET HAWKS +5.5 (-105).
Despite Friday’s 29-point game, I have not been impressed with the offensive output of Mobley to start the season, and with him going to be the lead initiator due to Cleveland’s injuries, expect Cleveland’s offense to be significantly worse if Mitchell isn’t playing. On the other side, guys like F Jalen Johnson are primed to have a solid performance here with the ball in his hands more. Similarly, look for Atlanta’s defense to have a lot less lapses now that Young won’t be out there to get hunted.
BET UNDER 229.5 (-105).
Atlanta’s defense has looked much better in the game and a half that Young has missed, and that will continue here against this banged up Cavs team. Also, both teams will likely look less fluid and less efficient with the primary ball-handlers out for both teams, making the Under nearly a lock here.
