Looks like Zion Harmon will fit in just fine with Georgetown College men’s basketball.

Held out for most of the first three-and-a-half games of the season, Harmon hit four of his five shots and rescued GC from a double-digit deficit Sunday after entering the game midway through the second half.

The former four-star NCAA Division I recruit delivered his final bucket to cap that comeback with 1.2 seconds left, vaulting No. 3 Georgetown to a 76-75 victory over No. 2 Arizona Christian, feature attraction of the three-day Remington Williams Memorial Invitational at Breckon Sports Center in Parkville, Missouri.

It salvaged a two-out-of-three weekend for Georgetown (2-2), which picked up its initial win of the season, 84-64, over host Park University in Friday’s opening tilt.

The Tigers dropped an 84-68 decision Saturday to Peru State (Nebraska) in the third-annual event to honor Williams, a Georgetown alum and former student manager for the men’s basketball team who lost in life in a 2022 auto accident after graduating from law school in Kansas City.

In a wild game that featured 18 lead changes and 16 ties, Arizona Christian led 53-43 on Ese Onakpoma’s 3-pointer with 14:03 remaining.

It was still 57-49 when Harmon checked in at the 10:40 mark. Aden Nyekan and Scotty Browning scored the next eight points to erase that deficit before a go-ahead bucket by Harmon.

Layups by Lewis and Harmon wiped out another deficit and put GC in front, 71-70, with a minute to go.

Onakpoma scored a go-ahead bucket but was called for a technical foul in the aftermath, and Isaiah Mason’s two free throws made it a 73-72 advantage for the Tigers.

Zach Reighard’s 3-pointer swung the pendulum back to Arizona Christian with nine seconds left, but Harmon supplied the answer.

Kadyn Koch’s desperation fling at the basket was off the mark as the horn sounded.

Georgetown prevailed despite disadvantages of 24 points to 12 from the free-throw line and 39-24 in the rebound category. On the plus side for the Tigers, they held the Firestorm to 39 percent from the field and forced 17 turnovers.

Mason led the Tigers with 17 points, including 6-for-6 from the line, and five rebounds. Nyekan and Rashad Bishop scored 13 points apiece. Browning supplemented his 12 points with seven assists.

Mason led all scorers with 23 points on 9-of-17 shooting against Park. He also racked up seven rebounds. Bishop bolstered the Tigers with a double-double, 16 points and 14 rebounds. Browning chipped in 13 points and five assists.

In its only game of the week ahead, Georgetown will host Morris College at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
