Meanwhile, the Magic improved to 2-2 on their five-game road trip on Saturday with a 125-94 victory over the Washington Wizards. They led by as many as 31 points and improved to 2-1 this season when shooting at least 50% from the field (51.1).
Paolo Banchero led the Magic with 28 points and 11 rebounds, Franz Wagner scored 25 points, six rebounds and six assists and Wendell Carter Jr. added 16 points and 12 rebounds. The team has scored 818 points, tied for the most in franchise history through the first seven games of a season.
The Magic and Hawks are meeting for the second of four matchups this season. Atlanta took the first meeting on Oct. 24 and has won 15 out of the last 20 overall.
