The Oklahoma City Thunder will travel on the road to face the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday. It’s the second game of a four-game road trip and the second night of a back-to-back for OKC. This will be the first matchup of the season between the two squads.
The Thunder (8-0) made franchise history in their 126-107 win over the LA Clippers on Tuesday. They have their best start to a regular season ever. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had 30 points and 12 assists in three quarters. Isaiah Joe scored 22 points off the bench.
Meanwhile, the Trail Blazers (4-3) dropped a 123-115 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday. Deni Avdija had 33 points, but that wasn’t enough to overcome the short-handed road squad. Deandre Ayton had 29 points in his return as Los Angeles was without LeBron James, Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves.

Thunder 118, Trail Blazers 110: Everybody has penciled this in as the Thunder’s first loss, considering the circumstances. They’re on the second night of a back-to-back. And the Trail Blazers have been a popular pick to be a surprise team. They’ve rallied around interim coach Tiago Splitter. But considering OKC rested Gilgeous-Alexander in its blowout win over LA, you can throw away the rest disadvantage. Let’s go with the Thunder to grab another win over Portland. They’ve earned the benefit of the doubt as a winning machine.
