The Dallas Mavericks (2-5) host the New Orleans Pelicans (1-6) on Wednesday night. Dallas is home after two road losses while the Pelicans notched their first win of the season on Tuesday night against the Charlotte Hornets.
Here’s the main things you need to know before the game kicks off.
The injury report is what’s become normal in Dallas: Kyrie Irving out, Dante Exum out, Anthony Davis out. and Dereck Lively out. I think Lively is at least close to coming back. Davis has the calf strain so that may be a few games yet. The Pelicans are also injured. Zion Williamson leads the list with a hamstring injury, so he’s out. Yves Missi is out for some reason, the report doesn’t list why. Dejounte Murray is still out for the season. Jordan Poole is questionable but really when isn’t he questionable.
There’s a fair amount up on the site given how poor the play has been from the team. We all still have opinions about why that is and what Dallas can do about it (if anything). So head back out to the homepage in between comments and arguments and read those posts too.
As you can tell below, you can join me in a room on Playback (embed below) during the game (though I may not be able to start it until halftime). Also consider joining Josh and I on Pod Maverick live after the game on YouTube, we should start around 10:15 pm. Thanks so much for spending time with us here at Mavs Moneyball. Let’s go Mavs!
