Houston Rockets star Kevin Durant had some choice trash talk for the father of Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant on Thursday night.

At one point during Houston’s 124-109 win, Durant looked courtside and told Tee Morant, “Your son don’t wanna be here.”

Morant’s future in Memphis is increasingly a topic of discussion.

The Grizzlies suspended the two-time All-Star for one game for conduct detrimental to the team, which resulted from a reportedly tense exchange between he and head coach Tuomas Iisalo.

Upon returning in a 114-106 loss to the Detroit Pistons, Morant reflected that he’s not experiencing any “joy” on the court.

In a perhaps foreboding sign, that’s basically what Jimmy Butler said publicly before he and the Miami Heat engaged in a bitter standoff that culminated in his February trade to the Golden State Warriors.

The Athletic’s Sam Amick reported Wednesday the Sacramento Kings and Minnesota Timberwolves have shown a level of interest in Morant. The NBA insider also cautioned against any rushes to judgment given the 26-year-old’s value to the Grizzlies as both a lead star and the face of the franchise.

Durant’s remarks are a sign that other players around the NBA are aware of the unfolding saga involving Memphis and Morant.
