The Brooklyn Nets notched their first win of the 2025-26 NBA season on Wednesday in their 112-103 win at the Indiana Pacers that were missing almost half of their roster. While Brooklyn came away from Wednesday’s win feeling good about themselves, all was not well as guard Cam Thomas sustained left hamstring tightness, a condition that will keep him out of the lineup for the time being.

The Nets announced on Thursday that Thomas is out for Friday’s NBA Cup game against the Detroit Pistons due to the tightness in his left hamstring. Thomas suffered his injury after playing six minutes in Wednesday’s victory over the Pacers and it didn’t take long for Brooklyn to rule him out for the rest of the game with his injury, forcing players like Tyrese Martin to play extra minutes as a result.

As of this writing, the Nets have not given any specifics on Thomas’ injury, but it is possible that head coach Jordi Fernandez should have more information during his pregame press conference on Friday. Either way, Brooklyn will have to play without Thomas in the lineup for the first time this season and it will be interesting to see who Fernandez goes with to take Thomas’ place in the rotation.

Moving on, the Nets also announced that forward Terance Mann is questionable for Friday’s contest against Detroit due to left shoulder soreness. Mann did not appear to show any signs of an injury during Wednesday’s win at the Pacers as he played 35 minutes, finishing with a stat line of 15 points, six assists, and two steals as the starting point guard for the game.

Rookie forward Drake Powell is questionable for Friday’s game against the Pistons due to his right ankle sprain, but after Brian Lewis of the New York Post reported Wednesday that Powell participated in shootaround, it seems like the former North Carolina Tar Heel should be back soon. As was the case on Wednesday, rookies Nolan Traore, Ben Saraf, and Danny Wolf are out Friday vs. Detroit due to their G League assignments.
