The Boston Celtics (4-5) visit the Orlando Magic (3-5) tonight at the Kia Center in Orlando in a Friday Night matchup.

Boston has held up better than expected without Jayson Tatum and looks to get back to .500.

The Celtics are coming off a dominant 136–107 win over the Washington Wizards on Wednesday, controlling the game on both ends. Jaylen Brown led with 35 points in just 26 minutes. All five starters scored in double figures, and the bench added 35 points, led by Anfernee Simons’ 18.

Boston launched 41 three-point attempts and hit 39%, showing the perimeter game can keep them competitive even without Tatum.

Orlando is coming off a 127–112 loss to the Atlanta Hawks, who were without Trae Young. Atlanta still had balanced scoring with all five starters in double digits, shooting 55.6% from the field.

Paolo Banchero led the Magic with 22 points, but shot just 37.5%, and the Magic shot only 43.4% overall. Desmond Bane, the team’s major offseason addition, continues to struggle, finishing with 9 points and averaging just 13.9 PPG on 41.4% shooting and 28.6% from three — a notable drop from his previous production.

Prediction

These teams are closely matched and both need a win to steady their seasons. Expect a competitive, physical game, but Orlando’s depth and home court advantage may prove decisive down the stretch.

Prediction: Magic 117, Celtics 114
