The Toronto Raptors (5–4) continue their road trip tonight against the Philadelphia 76ers (5–3) at Wells Fargo Center.

Toronto enters on a four-game winning streak. That run includes a couple of wins against shorthanded opponents, but also an impressive victory over Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks. Their defense has tightened during the streak, holding opponents to just 100.5 points per game. The Raptors’ core of Brandon Ingram, RJ Barrett, and Scottie Barnes has led the way — each averaging over 20 points per game.

Philadelphia, meanwhile, is looking to regroup after back-to-back losses. The Sixers fell by two to the Chicago Bulls and then dropped an 11-point decision to the Cleveland Cavaliers, a game Joel Embiid sat out.

In that loss, Tyrese Maxey and Quentin Grimes each scored 27 points, showcasing Philadelphia’s scoring depth. Maxey has opened the season on a tear, averaging 33.5 points per game.

Rookie VJ Edgecombe has cooled slightly after a hot start — averaging 9.5 points on 27% shooting over his last two games — but he has already flashed big scoring upside, including a 34-point performance earlier this season. The inconsistency at this stage is simply part of the NBA adjustment curve.

Prediction

Philadelphia’s home-court edge and roster depth give them the upper hand tonight. Expect the Raptors to keep it close, but the 76ers should pull away in the final quarter.

Prediction: 76ers 118, Raptors 112
