Kristaps Porzingis shared what he felt after the New York Knicks beat the Boston Celtics in Game 6 at the Madison Square Garden.

In what was a loud night at the Garden, the New York Knicks showed they were up to the task from tip-off till the final buzzer as they secured a dominant 119-81 win over the Boston Celtics.

It was a team performance from the Knicks as four of their starters scored over 20 points on the night and put the game to bed in the third quarter itself.

The reigning champions seemed miles off their best as they shot only 30% from three-point range and no player apart from Jaylen Brown really got going for them.

Kristaps Porzingis, whose health has been in question all series, came off the bench, but was not able to make any impact on the game.

He scored only four points in 11:28 minutes of action, which did not help the Celtics as the Latvian is someone who they rely on for scoring especially with the injury to Jayson Tatum.

After the loss, Kristaps Porzingis shared what it felt like to see his former side the Knicks win the Conference Semis for the first time in 25 years.

Porzingis was drafted to the Knicks as a sixth pick in the 2014 draft.

He showed great potential, but the team was not in a great place when he was on their roster.

Porzingis moved from the Knicks in 2019 and things have gone well for him and the franchise as well since.

Speaking on how he feels about his former side’s success, Porzingis said: “The support from the Knicks fans was through the roof tonight and all throughout the playoffs.

“Unbelievable fans, unbelievable city and there’s a side of me that’s very happy for them.

“I wish them nothing but the best, they are class players that we played against and they’re doing great things and I wish them nothing but the best.”

The New York Knicks fans were amazing

All the big stars were in attendance for the crucial Game 6, cheering the Knicks and the team played like they had a point to prove.

It was a tough environment for the Celtics to play in as the crowd played a big factor, cheering the team at every point scored and every defensive possession.

There was a sea of Knicks fans even outside the stadium who were ecstatic after the win and the scenes in the streets of New York were unbelievable.

The city had been craving for postseason success and after two decades of failure, they are finally in the Conference Finals

The last time the team got there was in 2000, when Patrick Ewing was still on the roster.

Ironically the team that they met in the Conference Finals that season was the Indiana Pacers, the same team they will once again lock horns with in a matter of a few days.

Knicks will have the homecourt advantage in the series and the atmosphere is expected to be electric as the team will be looking to make their first NBA Finals appearance in two decades.
