LIVINGSTON, Tenn. (WSMV) – A Middle Tennessee school district is investigating hazing allegations against a school’s boys’ basketball team.
Overton County Schools is investigating reports of hazing involving members of the Livingston Academy boys’ basketball team.
The boys’ basketball team has been suspended as the investigation continues.
The school system reports that it is following all required procedures under federal Title IX regulations regarding the allegations of hazing.
“While the investigation and grievance process are ongoing, the district is legally prohibited from issuing disciplinary actions or final decisions until all due process requirements are completed,” the district said. “This process ensures that every student’s rights are protected and that the district’s response is both thorough and fair.”
OCS says it will release updates as the investigation process concludes.
