Cooper Flagg had to sit during the first half of the Dallas Mavericks‘ game against the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday night. After getting struck on the shoulder by the Suns’ Grayson Allen, the Mavericks’ rookie went to the locker room to get it checked out.
While he would return to the game, finishing with 16 points, six rebounds and six assists, Flagg was seen nursing his shoulder on the bench when he wasn’t on the floor.
After the game, a 123-114 loss that dropped Dallas to 3-9, Flagg was asked if he was injured.
“No injuries,” Flagg said. “I’m a little banged up. It’s a lot of games, that’s a little different; you know, not as much time in-between, so I think the body is adjusting. I’m getting with strength coaches, medical staff and everybody. I’ll be alright.”
Flagg has taken a couple of blows so far this season, including on Monday night when he injured his thumb.
The Mavericks play on Friday night, hosting the Los Angeles Clippers.
