Devin Booker on being surrounded by young players on Suns

Devin Booker, once a young phenom, is now a veteran surrounded by young players: “It’s a lot of jokes.”

The Phoenix Suns started fast last season, too.

They opened 9-2 before their season crashed and burned with just 36 wins and a massive overhaul to follow.

The new-look Suns (7-5) started 1-4, but they’ve gone 6-1 in their last seven games and have won four straight heading into Thursday’s Nov. 13, game against the Indiana Pacers (1-10) at Mortgage Matchup Center in the second of a back-to-back.

Arizona Family (3TV) is televising the 7 p.m. game.

Winners of its last four games, Phoenix defeated the Dallas Mavericks, 123-114, Nov. 12 at American Airlines Center. Devin Booker paced the Suns with 26 points with 16 coming in the first half.

Williams out again for second of back-to-back

‘Mark Williams joins Jalen Green on the injury report as he’s ruled out of Thursday’s game against Indiana with right-knee injury management. The 7-footer has yet to play in the second of a back-to-back in his first year with the Sun. This is the team’s second back-to-back of the 2025-26 season.

The Suns have had Williams, who has been injury prone in the NBA, on a conditioning plan since he arrived July 1. He came off the bench to start the season and didn’t play the second of a back-to-back at Denver last month when the Suns opened the season playing three games in four days.

“Our defensive activity, it digs us out.”

Jordan Ott as Suns scored 31 points off 21 Mavs turnovers in 123-114 win.

Williams played 106 games total in his first three NBA seasons in Charlotte. Phoenix traded two first-round picks to the Hornets during the 2025 draft in landing Williams. He’s averaging 11.7 points on 60.2% shooting and 8.7 rebounds in 11 games this season. Williams posted 10 points in Wednesday’s 123-114 road win against the Dallas Mavericks.

Green will be out four to six weeks with a right hamstring strain. The Suns announced Green’s injury timetable earlier this week.
