The Brooklyn Nets are dealing with some injuries to begin the 2025-26 NBA season and that hasn’t helped the team get off to a great start with their 1-10 record. Brooklyn has been facing some tough competition as of late, but with an NBA Cup matchup looming at the Orlando Magic on Friday, the Nets could have their full center rotation for the first time in a couple games.

The Nets announced on Thursday that center Day’Ron Sharpe is probable for Friday’s game at the Magic, which is an upgrade from what his condition had been over the past few days. Sharpe is dealing with a left glute contusion that he suffered in Sunday’s 134-98 loss at the New York Knicks, but it seems that he will likely be back in the lineup against Orlando.

With Sharpe sidelined with his injury, most of the backup center minutes have gone to forward Noah Clowney, who has been taking the next step in his development this season. Clowney, 21, is averaging 9.0 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game while shooting 33.3% from the field and 26.2% from three-point land while playing in every game this campaign.

Moving on to the rest of the injury report, guard Cam Thomas and forward Haywood Highsmith remain out of the lineup as they are dealing with their respective injuries. Thomas is still recovering from a left hamstring strain that he suffered this month and could keep him out of action for the rest of the month while Highsmith is recovering from offseason surgery on his right knee that will have him out until December.

Rookies Nolan Traore, Ben Saraf, and Danny Wolf are out as they continue their G League assignment with the Long Island Nets, Brooklyn’s afiliate. Due to the amount of veterans on the team, the Nets have chosen to send the trio to the G League so that they can get plenty of repetitions while rookies Egor Demin and forward Drake Powell are operating as significant members of the rotation.
