The Indiana Pacers (1-10) travel to face the Phoenix Suns (7-5) tonight at the Mortgage Matchup Center in Phoenix.
The Suns are red hot, winners of four straight and six of their last seven. Devin Booker continues to anchor the offense at 28.2 points and 7.0 assists per game, but Phoenix is now getting a more balanced attack and steadier defense.
Grayson Allen erupted for 42 points in Monday’s 121–98 win over the New Orleans Pelicans and is averaging 18.3 points per game, while Dillon Brooks is matching him at 18.3 per night.
Jalen Green — acquired in the Kevin Durant trade — gave the Suns a jolt with a 29-point debut last Thursday before returning to the sidelines with a hamstring injury. He’ll be reevaluated in December, but his speed and shot creation remain a promising weapon once healthy.
It’s true that several of Phoenix’s recent wins have come against struggling opponents like New Orleans and the Dallas Mavericks. Tonight brings another favorable matchup.
Indiana fought early in the season without Tyrese Haliburton, but their depth has evaporated under mounting injuries. Their offense has stalled, their defense has collapsed, and the roster that powered last year’s Finals run is largely unavailable.
They gave up 152 points to the Utah Jazz on Tuesday, their worst loss of the season, despite the best efforts of Pascal Siakam.
Siakam continues to shine with 24.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game, but he hasn’t had enough support to stop a five-game skid.
Prediction
With the Suns’ home strengths, more stable rotation, and the Pacers’ ongoing struggles, Phoenix looks poised to take control.
Prediction: Suns 120, Pacers 112
