The Boston Celtics should trade for Dallas Mavericks star big man Anthony Davis. Or at least that is the point of view recently shared by former Celtics floor general and current host of the “Club 520) podcast Jeff Teague. A quick look at the rosters of both teams does indeed hint that such a move could make sense through the right lens and for the right deal. Boston needs a championship-caliber big for when injured star forward Jayson Tatum returns from his Achilles rehab, and the Mavs are likely going to blow it up to maximize a Cooper Flagg-centric rebuild.
But when you dive further into the details, does such a trade still make sense? AD brings a big salary and small availability range in recent seasons, and the Celtics simply can’t afford to have that much salary tied up in a player who misses time so regularly. Is there a way to make this work for both sides, or just a pipe dream?
Take a look at the clip embedded below to hear what they had to say about an AD-to-Boston trade possibility.
