DALLAS — James Harden delivered one of the finest performances of his Hall of Fame career Friday night, posting 41 points, 14 rebounds, and 11 assists to lead the Los Angeles Clippers past the Dallas Mavericks 133-127 in double overtime, snapping a six-game losing streak while improving to 2-0 in NBA Cup group play.

Historic Night for The Beard

Playing 51 minutes in an NBA Cup thriller, Harden recorded his 82nd career triple-double and eighth as a Clipper, moving him into sole possession of the franchise record while posting season highs in both points and rebounds.

The 36-year-old guard was at his absolute best when it mattered most, scoring 10 of his points across the two overtime periods when the Clippers desperately needed a closer.

In the second overtime, Harden took control by following two made free throws with a driving basket that gave the Clippers a 129-125 lead with 3:07 remaining, effectively sealing the win and putting an end to Los Angeles’ longest losing streak of the season.

Bogdanovic Provides Spark Off the Bench

Bogdan Bogdanovic came up huge for the Clippers, hitting five three-pointers on his way to 21 points off the bench, with both marks representing season highs for the veteran sharpshooter who has struggled to find his rhythm through the early part of the campaign.

Don’t forget what Bogdan Bogdanovic did tonight in a must-win for the Clippers:

His ability to space the floor and knock down timely shots provided the Clippers with a crucial secondary scoring option alongside Harden, and this performance could signal a turning point for a player brought in specifically to provide shooting depth.

Zubac Dominates Inside

Center Ivica Zubac posted a season-high 27 points to go along with 11 rebounds, giving the Clippers a formidable inside presence to complement Harden’s perimeter wizardry while shooting efficiently from the field and controlling the paint on both ends. Zubac helped Los Angeles win the rebounding battle despite playing without Kawhi Leonard (ankle) and Bradley Beal (hip fracture, out for season).

Climbing the NBA Cup Standings

The win improved the Clippers to 2-0 in West Group B of the NBA Cup, putting them in a strong position to advance to the knockout rounds alongside the Lakers atop their group, though point differential could ultimately determine which team advances.

The Clippers’ next NBA Cup game comes against the Lakers on November 25, a battle of Los Angeles that could decide the group winner, but before that showdown they must navigate a challenging seven-game road trip that began with this win in Dallas.

What’s Next

The Clippers (4-8) continue their lengthy road swing Sunday at Boston before heading to Philadelphia on Tuesday, while the Mavericks (3-10) have dropped seven of their last eight games and face an uphill battle to salvage their season.

For the Clippers, Friday’s win represented more than just snapping a losing streak — it showed that even without their two best players, they can compete when Harden is at his best and the supporting cast steps up around him. If Bogdanovic can build on this performance and Zubac continues his strong play inside, the Clippers might just weather this injury storm better than expected and stay afloat until Leonard returns to the lineup.
