The Oklahoma City Thunder will travel to face the Charlotte Hornets on Saturday. This will be the first matchup of the season between the two squads. It’s the start of a mini two-game road trip for OKC.

The Thunder (12-1) have won four in a row. Back-to-back blowout victories sent a message to the rest of the NBA. They humiliated the Los Angeles Lakers in a 121-92 win on Wednesday. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had 30 points and nine assists in three quarters.

Meanwhile, the Hornets (4-8) are on the second night of a road-and-home back-to-back. They suffered a 147-134 OT loss to the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday. It was part of the 2025 NBA Cup group play. Kon Knueppel and Miles Bridges each scored 32 points.

The offense looked a lot better when Gilgeous-Alexander checked back in. Surprise. He has 18 points and six assists. Holmgren has also been aggressive with 14 points and six rebounds. The Hornets are a hot 10-of-24 from the outside. That’s kept them in this.

Sexton with the corner 3-pointer. Offense has looked better with Gilgeous-Alexander on the floor, but the Hornets have kept up.

Gilgeous-Alexander already has nine points and five assists. The Hornets have an answer for him. Meanwhile, Charlotte has stayed in it with hot outside shooting. They’re 6-of-14. Also doesn’t help OKC that it has six turnovers already. Some pretty poor ball security.

Too many turnovers for OKC. They have six already. Mann makes the deep 3-pointer. A good timeout to call.

The Thunder will start Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Lu Dort, Cason Wallace, Chet Holmgren and Isaiah Hartenstein. The Hornets will start Collin Sexton, Sion James, Kon Knueppel, Miles Bridges and Ryan Kalkbrenner.
