Whether or not he will play on Monday is unclear; still, George being on the court practicing is massive news for Philadelphia.
George has yet to play this season as he continues to recover from arthroscopic surgery on his left knee in July. He is inching closer to a return, and his practice is an excellent sign for that.
A few days ago, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that George is “in the final stages of his debut process.”

“Paul George is in the final stage of his debut process and will be re-evaluated later this week. He is moving closer to a return, but doctors want additional strength of his left quadriceps to support the knee before clearance,” Charania wrote.

Injuries and durability have been a major issue for George, especially in his 76ers tenure. After signing a massive four-year, $211 million contract with the 76ers in the summer of 2024, it has been quite a disaster for both sides.
George has been unable to stay healthy and last season, the 76ers were arguably the most disappointing team. As for this season, the 76ers sit with a 7-5 record after starting the season at 4-0.
With George recovering from his surgery, the 76ers have heavily relied on All-Star Tyrese Maxey and rookie VJ Edgecombe, who has proven to be a reliable piece for the team now and moving forward.
The 76ers selected Edgecombe with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.
George was held to 41 games last season, and while his return is still pending, he has a chance to exceed that total this season.
