I have some bad news for our friends in San Antonio.
The latest on Victor Wembanyama is that he suffered a left calf strain in the game Warriors this past Friday night; he is expected to be sidelined for several days Weeks.
That is per ESPN’s Sham Sharania.
And here’s the concerning thing about Victor Wembanyama.
One, it starts with a calf strain.
That is one that I think should raise red flags for any NBA fan anywhere.
Because I’m looking at what happened to Tyrese Halliburton in the NBA Finals this past year.
Uh, Tyrese Haliburton was dealing with the same thing, A calf strain, you know, some calf, you know, soreness there, And that ultimately led to the torn Achilles.

There is a direct correlation with a calf muscle strain and a torn Achilles tendon.
At least a calf strain can keep you down.
Sidelines for just a couple of weeks.
A torn Achilles will sideline you next time.
365 days and require surgery.
So, I don’t blame the San Antonio Spurs for taking this very seriously.
For being incredibly patient with Victor Watanabe’s calf injury.
Wanting to ensure he gets back as close to 100% as possible.
It’ll be very, very liberal with his, uh, uh, with his recovery time here.
But we also have to look at San Antonio Spurs and how theyre constructed.
Victor Wembanyama is the focal point of that team.

Everything ebbs and flows, and goes through Victor Wembanyama.
He is the heart, soul, and heartbeat of what the San Antonio Spurs team wants to do.
And if Victor Wembanyama sidelined too long with this injury, Then you can throw Wemby’s MVP hopes out the window because he wont hit that minimum Threshold for the number of games played to be considered for MVP.
Right now, though, the Spurs should be focused on the health of their superstar.
But something to keep in mind over the next couple of weeks.
