Zach Thompson details his best player prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for tonight’s game between the Rockets and the Cavaliers.

The NBA has a nice nine-game slate lined up for Wednesday’s mid-week schedule. ESPN gets a doubleheader to anchor their coverage and it tips off with a star-studded matchup between the Cavaliers and the Rockets. The game has plenty of good options to consider for player prop bets, so let’s jump in and take a look at a few that stand out as my favorites.

On DraftKings Sportsbook, the Rockets are slight 1.5-point road favorites, with the game total set at O/U 234.5 points. Houston has won four straight and nine of its last 10 to blast to 9-3 on the season, while the Cavaliers are 10-5 after knocking off the Grizzlies and Bucks at home in their last two games. Coming into this showdown, each team is in the top three in their respective conference.

It should be a great matchup with players to cheer for on both sides, so let’s highlight some player prop bets that make sense from what could be a potential NBA Finals preview.

Rockets vs. Cavaliers Best Prop Bets on DraftKings Sportsbook

Donovan Mitchell 30+ Points (+113)

Mitchell has averaged 30.9 points in his first 13 games this season, shooting 50.9% from the field and 38.8% from behind the three-point line. He’s had over 30 points in eight of his 13 contests this season, including each of his last three games, which he played without Darius Garland (toe) and Jaylon Tyson (concussion), who are out again on Wednesday.

With Garland on the floor, Mitchell has a 27.0% usage rate, but without Garland, Mitchell has a 33.1% usage rate. All that usage helps him average 0.91 points per minute when Garland is off the floor, giving him a good shot to get to 30 points without Garland on Wednesday.

The Rockets’ big lineup has been strong defensively this season, but I still think Spida can get to at least 30 points, and I like getting this player prop bet at plus-money.

Reed Sheppard Over 12.5 Points (-107)

The Rockets have kept their oversized starting lineup without a real point guard, but Sheppard continues to get good minutes off the bench.  He has played at least 24 minutes in five straight games, averaging 27 minutes per game.

In his key role in the second unit, the former No. 3 overall pick has gone over this points prop in five straight games, including scoring 16 points in 29 minutes on Sunday at home against the Magic.

Even if this game tilts hard one way or the other, and the bench absorbs more minutes, Sheppard should be able to deliver at least 13 points. In the close competitive games, he has also been in an increased scoring role, especially with Tari Eason (hip) no longer getting buckets off the bench.

Alperen Sengun Over 9.5 Rebounds (-133)

Sengun has at least 10 boards in four straight games and in seven of his last eight. He has a double-double in eight games this season, including each of his last four, but his odds to record a double-double (-174) are not as favorable as his rebound odds.

Sengun will be matched up against twin towers: Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley. However, they have been giving up points and rebounds to opposing bigs this season. Centers as a whole are averaging 14.2 rebounds against the Cavs this season, and I think Sengun should be able to get at least 10 boards once again in this matchup.
