Guard
Stud
Donovan Mitchell, Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Houston Rockets, $9,300
The marquee matchup of the night is the Cavaliers vs. the Rockets and Mitchell is a great way to attack this tilt. While Houston ranks sixth in defensive rating, this game presents a 234.5-point total and Houston is only favored by 1.5 points on DraftKings Sportsbook. Mitchell has been excellent as of late, scoring over 50 FPTS in three of his last four and this season, the guard is leading Cleveland with a 32.3% usage rate and 1.5 FPTS per minute.
Mitchell has a knack for elevating his game in the biggest moments and over 50 FPTS is a strong possibility for him with the 9-3 Rockets in town.
Other Options: Tyrese Maxey ($10,000), Stephen Curry ($9,200), Brandon Ingram ($7,300)
Value
Bennedict Mathurin, Indiana Pacers vs. Charlotte Hornets, $6,000
Mathurin (toe) returned from an 11-game absence Monday vs. the Pistons and was very efficient, scoring 33.25 FPTS in just 25 minutes. With tonight being his second game back and an island game for the Pacers, Mathurin should see more work and approach 30 minutes.
With Tyrese Haliburton (Achilles) sidelined this season, Mathurin is leading Indiana with a 29.9% usage rate and he is scoring 40.6 FPTS per game in his three contests. Mathurin is producing 1.23 FPTS per minute and this $6,000 salary is far too low for his new, large role this season. Going against a Hornets defense that is 23rd in defensive rating this season, Mathurin should surpass five-times value with ease.
Other Options: VJ Edgecombe ($6,000), Isaiah Joe ($4,200), Josh Okogie ($3,500)
Forward
Stud
Julius Randle, Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Washington Wizards, $8,200
Randle has been excellent this season, scoring 46.1 FPTS in 33.1 minutes per game while shooting 52% from the field. The forward is handling a 27.6% usage rate and he has topped 50 FPTS in four of his last eight starts.
On the menu for tonight is an elite matchup vs. the Wizards, who rank fourth in pace and 28th in defensive rating this season. Minnesota’s 127.5-point implied team total on DraftKings Sportsbook is the highest on the slate and Randle is the No. 1 forward option available Wednesday in this gorgeous spot.
Other Options: Kevin Durant ($8,500), Miles Bridges ($8,400)
Value
Pelle Larsson, Miami Heat vs. Golden State Warriors, $4,100
Larsson has been starting for the Heat this season and the wing is coming off a 27.8 FPTS outing vs. the Knicks on Monday. Larsson has now surpassed 20 FPTS in five of his last six starts and he has logged at least 24 minutes in every game during this stretch.
While shooting 54% from the field, Larsson is amassing 0.9 FPTS per minute this season and he should provide at least 20 FPTS tonight facing this Warriors team that is on the second leg of a back-to-back set.
Other Options: Moses Moody ($5,600), Naz Reid ($5,300), Peyton Watson ($4,600), Precious Achiuwa ($3,500)
Center
Stud
Alperen Sengun, Houston Rockets at Cleveland Cavaliers, $9,500
Sengun is playing the best basketball of his career this season. The center is supplying 51.6 FPTS in 37 minutes per game while shooting 48% from the field and handling a 26.2% usage rate. Sengun is leading the Rockets with 1.4 FPTS per minute and he has exceeded 60 FPTS in back-to-back games.
Sengun is flirting with a triple-double in nearly every game this season and he shouldn’t disappoint in this likely nail-biter vs. the Cavaliers, who rank seventh in pace this season. Houston has been favored by double-digits in half its game this season, but tonight, the Rockets are only favored by 1.5 points and for the six times Sengun has competed in a single-digit spread this season, the big man is amassing 54 FPTS per game.
Other Options: Nikola Jokic ($13,000)
Value
Isaiah Jackson, Indiana Pacers vs. Charlotte Hornets, $4,200
If Jackson is starting at center for the Pacers for the second game in a row tonight, he will be a tremendous bargain at this low salary. Jackson moved into Indiana’s starting lineup Monday vs. the Pistons, with Jeremiah Robinson-Earl shifting back to the bench, and Jackson posted a double-double of 40 DraftKings points in 26.4 minutes.
Jackson is scoring 1.1 FPTS per minute while shooting 58% from the field this season and he has displayed strong upside recently, with over 30 FPTS in three of his last eight games. This 23rd-ranked Hornets defense is giving up the eighth-most points in the paint this season and Jackson will have double-double upside if he is starting in this juicy spot.
Other Options: Andre Drummond ($6,200), Derik Queen ($5,200), Moussa Diabate ($4,400)
