The Los Angeles Clippers (4-10) take on the Orlando Magic (8-7) tonight at the Kia Center in Orlando. 

The Clippers remain in a rough stretch without Kawhi Leonard. They’ve dropped seven of their last eight games in his absence, and their offense has sputtered — scoring 108 points or fewer in five of those losses.

James Harden has shouldered the scoring load, averaging nearly 29 points per game during this span, including a 37-point performance in Sunday’s 121–118 loss to the Boston Celtics. But without a consistent second scorer, the Clippers continue to struggle closing games.

Orlando, meanwhile, enters as one of the league’s hotter teams, winning seven of its last ten despite being without Paolo Banchero. They nearly stole an overtime win from the Houston Rockets on Sunday and have been powered by Desmond Bane’s resurgence.

Over the last seven games, Bane is averaging 20.4 points and shooting 32% from three — an improvement from the 25% mark he posted in October, though still shy of his career 40.7% clip. Once Banchero returns, the Magic will be even more dangerous.

Prediction

The Clippers’ offense remains too dependent on Harden without Leonard. They simply lack the firepower to compete with a Magic offense that has more consistent offensive weapons.
