ZT details his best player prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for tonight’s game between the Timberwolves and the Suns.

On Friday, 18 teams resume NBA Cup group play with some great matchups across the board. In Western Conference Group A, the Minnesota Timberwolves are 2-0 as they head to the desert to take on the Phoenix Suns, who won their first group play game as well. With plenty of player props on the board from both sides, let’s dive in and take a look at a few player prop bets that stand out as my favorites.

On DraftKings Sportsbook, the Timberwolves are slight 4.5-point road favorites, with the game total set at O/U 231.5 points.

On the season, the Wolves are a solid 10-5 overall, while the Suns are just behind them in the Western Conference standings at 9-6. In what should be an outstanding and very entertaining matchup, let’s dive in and hunt down a few player prop bets that make sense.

Timberwolves vs. Suns Best Prop Bets on DraftKings Sportsbook

Dillon Brooks over 17.5 points (-111)

With Jalen Green (hamstring) and Grayson Allen (quadriceps) out, Brooks has had to step into a more active role in the offense. He is averaging an impressive 20.9 points per game through his nine games this season on 45.9% shooting from the field and a 28.4% usage rate, second on the team behind only Devin Booker.

Brooks only had 12 points on Tuesday against the Trail Blazers, but he had scored at least 18 points in each of his previous four games, including a pair of 30-point outbursts against the Pacers and Hawks at home. Since he’s been so good at home, you can even use Brooks’ points as a ladder, being aggressive with 20+ points  at +134 and 30+ points at a juicy +940. At home, he’s averaging 26.5 points per game.

Taking the over on this prop is a good spot to start my player prop bets given how consistent Brooks has been at scoring at least 18 points this season. He has gone over this prop in six of his nine games overall (67%), including all four of his games at home.

Naz Reid 20+ Points + Rebounds (-127)

Reid got off to a slow start this season, but he has been picking things up lately. In his 15 games overall, he is averaging 13.3 points and 6.0 rebounds, putting him at 19.3 points plus rebounds.

On Wednesday, Jaden McDaniels (wrist, questionable) was out, allowing Reid to help fill in more on offense and finish with a season-high 28 points and five rebounds. He also had 20+ points along in his previous game on Monday against the Mavericks.

In each of his last four games, Reid has gone over this prop line while averaging 20.3 points and 8.8 rebounds. There is a chance that McDaniels returns on Friday, limiting Reid’s minutes a little. However, I see this prop at this price point as a good play even with McDaniels that turns into a great play if McDaniels misses a second straight game.

Collin Gillespie over 18.5 Points + Assists (-109)

Gillespie has been a huge revelation for the Suns this season as a key contributor coming off the bench. He should continue to get plenty of minutes and usage with Green and Allen out. In his two games without Allen and Green, he had 15 points and seven assists in a close loss to the Hawks on Sunday, then on Tuesday he posted 19 points and six assists in a blowout win over the Blazers. He got extra run in the fourth quarter of that game in place of Devin Booker, totaling nine points and two assists in just the final quarter of that game.

With more usage and responsibility in the second unit and sharpshooting potential as well, Gillespie has multiple paths to get over this prop line on Friday. I think he’ll continue his breakout season in Phoenix with another strong showing in this contest.
