The Chicago Bulls (8-7) host the hapless Washington Wizards (1-14) tonight at the United Center.
Washington enters on a brutal 13-game losing streak, searching for anything to break the slide. But the task gets no easier against a Chicago team that’s getting healthier with the returns of Josh Giddey and Coby White. The Bulls are certainly beatable — last night’s 143–107 blowout loss to the Miami Heat was their worst defensive showing of the season. Miami’s performance has been boosted by the return of Bam Adebayo, and Chicago never found its footing.
Tonight, the Bulls face the worst defense in the NBA. Blowouts have become routine for Washington: 11 of its 14 losses have come by double digits. The Wizards score 112.5 points per game but allow 129.7, a margin that’s nearly impossible to overcome.
Chicago’s defense has regressed as well, giving up 121 or more in each of its last four games, but this matchup offers a chance to reset fundamentals against the league’s only one-win team.
Prediction
This is a classic “get-right” opportunity for Chicago. The Bulls’ offense should find its rhythm against Washington’s porous defense, while the Wizards’ lack of depth and interior resistance makes it difficult for them to keep pace. Unless Chicago replicates last night’s defensive collapse, the Bulls should control this one from the opening quarter.
Prediction: Bulls 125, Wizards 110
