Suns’ sophomore Ryan Dunn continues to improve at bringing up the ball

The Phoenix Suns’ sophomore forward discusses his leap taken in bringing up the ball and helping to initiate the offense during the 2025-2026 season.

Devin Booker and Drake have a longtime bond that began when Booker was a one-and-done at Kentucky in 2015, before the Phoenix Suns drafted him.

During an interview with online sports media outlet Pick ‘Em Pros released on Nov. 22, Booker initially claimed it was “tough” to name his favorite album of any music genre. But after pondering the question said, “It has to be Drake.”

Booker decided on Drake’s multi-platinum smash “Nothing Was The Same,” released in 2013.

“It dropped right during my transition to Mississippi, so I think my sophomore year of high school was about 15 years old,” Booker said. “I had a 35-minute drive to school every day, and that album, yeah, it got me through my transition.”

Booker was a McDonald’s All-American at Moss Point High School after he transferred from his hometown of Grand Rapids, Michigan, during his sophomore year.

The hip-hop juggernaut Drake championed Booker at several of his concerts by wearing his Suns and Mississippi-based high school Moss Point jerseys. Drake also helped Booker with the rollout of his popular Nike Book 1 shoes. Drake also has the memorable “wet like I’m Book” lyric in his 2018 collaborative hit single “Sicko Mode” with Travis Scott.
