Oklahoma City Thunder vs Portland Trail Blazers Preview
The Oklahoma City Thunder have become synonymous with absolute dominance in the NBA, at least over the past two years. The team looks outstanding on both ends of the floor, and their phenomenal results reflect that. Last season’s championship title was the crown of the incredible work done by general manager Sam Presti. What’s even more important is that the team doesn’t seem satisfied with just that trophy — they appear determined to maintain the same level in the years ahead. This season, they opened with eight straight wins, followed by a loss to the Portland Trail Blazers. After that, they put together another streak of eight consecutive victories and currently sit atop the Western Conference with a 16–1 record.
Perhaps the only thing more impressive than Oklahoma City’s winning streaks is the sheer dominance they’ve shown in each of those games. In their most recent stretch of eight wins, every single game was decided by double digits. The latest victory came against the Utah Jazz, a 112–144 win. To be fair, Utah opened the game exceptionally well and held a 14-point lead after the first quarter. However, OKC had trimmed it down to just one point by halftime. The Thunder completed their comeback in the third quarter, which they won 20–43, effectively closing out the game. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander delivered yet another brilliant performance — the Canadian star, playing at an MVP level, finished with 31 points and eight assists. He was followed by the consistently solid Isaiah Joe, who added 16 points.
The Portland Trail Blazers have plenty to regret so far this season. With a bit more luck, their record could have looked much better, but at the moment they sit at 7–9 with a modest ninth-place standing in the Western Conference. Beyond luck, concentration has also been an issue, especially in the numerous close games they’ve dropped this year. Additionally, their recent form has been far from ideal. In their last eight games, they’ve collected only two wins — against the New Orleans Pelicans and the Golden State Warriors — and interestingly, both came on the road.
Their victory over the Golden State Warriors comes as the lead-in to this matchup, and it seems to have arrived at exactly the right moment. Prior to that, they were on a four-game losing streak, including two narrow defeats, which undoubtedly shook their confidence. Against the Warriors, the Blazers entered as clear underdogs but showed great character. They opened the game very well, taking a seven-point lead after the first quarter, but quickly squandered it in the second, heading into halftime down by seven. Still, they refused to give up and used smart offensive execution to regain control and complete a massive comeback win. The biggest credit goes to Deni Avdija, who was spectacular with 26 points, 13 assists, and six rebounds. Caleb Love also delivered the best performance of his career, scoring 26 points of his own.

Oklahoma City Thunder vs Portland Trail Blazers Best Betting Tip and Prediction
The Oklahoma City Thunder are absolute favorites in this matchup — unsurprising given the form of both teams. However, the expectation is that the Thunder will approach this game with full seriousness and strong motivation, especially considering that the Blazers are the only team to beat them this season, and did so after OKC squandered a big lead. With that in mind, our recommendation is a home win with the Thunder covering the suggested handicap.
