For the second week in a row, Kentucky basketball is expected to drop in the Associated Press Top-25 rankings.
Mark Pope and his team were blown out by Michigan State in New York City last week during the State Farm Champions Classic, 83-66.
The game was never close and for those of you who watched, it was clear that Kentucky had little to no effort many times throughout the contest.
Kentucky did return home and did what they were expected to do in a 88-46 win over Loyola (Maryland) but that won’t be nearly enough to save them from another drop in the polls.
Unless you factor in the team’s exhibition win over Purdue (which of course doesn’t count for regular season standings), the Wildcats have yet to play a good game against a good opponent this season.
This has resulted in Haslametrics dropping UK to No. 6 (from No. 4), KenPom following suit to No. 12 (from No. 10) and EvanMiya also on the same page to No. 15 (from No. 10) ahead of this week.
Kentucky’s lone game over the next seven days will come against Tennessee Tech on Wednesday night.
