As the Philadelphia 76ers move forward into the 2025 offseason after a miserable season, they are armed with the tools to make a quick turnaround. They do have the No. 3 pick in the draft–an attractive trade asset–and they have the contracts to make deals work should they find one worth doing.

As the offseason continues, the Phoenix Suns are a team to keep an eye on. After a miserable season of their own, the expectation is that the Suns will be looking to offload superstar Kevin Durant. There were rumblings at the deadline that Durant was going to be moved and now is the time for the Suns to revisit that possibility.

With that being said, what can the Sixers offer the Suns? While President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey has repeatedly said that he and the Sixers plan to make a selection at No. 3, things can change. Maybe the Sixers include that in a deal for Durant?

ESPN’s Jonathan Givony floated this little idea out in the intel he heard at the scouting combine in Chicago:

Some teams expect the Sixers to be active in trade conversations, with names such as Kevin Durant (Phoenix) and Lauri Markkanen (Utah) as potential targets in packages that could include Paul George and the No. 3 pick. Sixers president of basketball operations Daryl Morey has made a career of being active and aggressive on the trade front, but historically, it’s rare to see a top-three pick being traded.

It is important to note that Givony is not saying the Sixers will definitely look into trading the No. 3 pick, but with Durant being possibly available? It has to be an option on the table for Morey and Co. The idea of bringing in a guy like Durant who is still an elite scorer–he averaged 26.6 points in 2024-25–would be a big move and give Philadelphia a big chance to contend in what is expected to be a wide-open Eastern Conference in 2025-26.
