The Portland Trail Blazers (7-10) visit the Milwaukee Bucks (8-9) tonight at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee.
The Bucks have lost four straight, and their defense has unraveled without Giannis Antetokounmpo. Milwaukee gave up 126 points in Saturday night’s loss to the Detroit Pistons, struggling to contain penetration and offering little resistance inside.
Ryan Rollins has emerged as the primary scorer in Giannis’s absence, averaging 26.7 points over his last three games, while Myles Turner continues to anchor the paint defensively. But replacing Giannis’s production — 31.2 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 6.8 assists per game — is simply impossible.
Portland enters banged up as well, missing key contributors like Jrue Holiday and Shaedon Sharpe. They’re coming off a blowout loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, though that’s hardly a stain given how dominant OKC has been. The Trail Blazers beat the Golden State Warriors on Friday and fell by just one point to the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday.
When healthy, Portland features a top-tier offense powered by Deni Avdija, who is in the midst of a breakout season with 25.1 points per game. Sharpe (22.6 PPG), Jerami Grant (18.6 PPG), and Holiday (16.7 PPG) round out an elite scoring core.
Tonight, they’ll need elevated play from Toumani Camara, Donovan Clingan, and Grant to offset their injury absences.
Prediction
Expect a tight one. The Bucks still have enough shot creation from Rollins and interior stability from Turner to stay competitive at home. Portland’s offensive firepower makes them dangerous, but their injuries and recent inconsistency give the Bucks a narrow edge.
Prediction: Bucks 123, Blazers 120
