PHOENIX — The Phoenix Suns dropped a tough 114-92 loss to the Houston Rockets on Monday, ending their three-game winning streak.

Despite the defeat, there were flashes of strong play from the team as they worked through key injuries.
Brooks’ Game
Facing his former team for the first time this season, Dillon Brooks served as the Suns’ offensive spark. He scored 29 points and shot 11-for-22 from the floor. Brooks also went on his own 7-0 run in the second quarter to pull Phoenix within four, but weren’t able to capitalize on his surge.
Aggressiveness Despite Fatigue
On the second night of a back-to-back, the Suns kept pushing. While the final score suggests otherwise, Phoenix didn’t let fatigue show and kept playing hard. The team got within six in the fourth quarter before the Rockets responded with an offensive burst.
Bench Contributions
With injuries piling up, several players have stepped forward, including Collin Gillespie. After hitting the game-winning shot against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday, Gillespie added 16 points against the Rockets. He continues to deliver in big moments, making it increasingly difficult for the Suns to determine his spot in the rotation once they get healthier.

The loss wasn’t pretty, but the Suns showed moments they can build on heading into their next game.
Phoenix now goes on the road to face the Sacramento Kings in Game 3 of the NBA Emirates Cup on Wednesday, Nov. 26, at 8 p.m.
