The Oklahoma City Thunder will host the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday. It’s the first matchup of the season between the two squads. It also counts toward the 2025 NBA Cup West Group A standings.
The Thunder (17-1) have won nine in a row. They enjoyed some revenge in their 122-95 win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had 37 points and seven assists in three quarters.
Meanwhile, the Timberwolves (10-7) dropped a shocking 117-112 OT loss to the Sacramento Kings on Monday. Anthony Edwards’ efficient 43 points weren’t enough to overcome the upset.

Thunder 108, Timberwolves 98: This all depends on whether Gilgeous-Alexander suits up. If he does, this should be another double-digit win for the Thunder. He’s a walking 60-win machine. If not, then it can get ugly. The Timberwolves will look to get a much-needed win after two meltdown losses. The Thunder can’t replace the production of both him and Williams. Considering his durability and it being a primetime matchup, let’s go with Gilgeous-Alexander suiting up. In that scenario, OKC should beat a Minnesota squad that has had two straight ugly losses.
