This and that: The Blazers can clinch a berth to the knockout round of the NBA Cup with a win over the Spurs. The teams are competing in West Group C with the Denver Nuggets, Houston Rockets and Golden State Warriors. The Blazers and Nuggets are tied for first place with 2-1 records, but Portland owns the tiebreaker because it won a head-to-head meeting between the teams on Oct. 31. … San Antonio is still alive, too, however. The Spurs need a win tonight over the Blazers and a win over Denver on Friday to advance to the knockout round. … Portland starting center Donovan Clingan, who has recorded a double-double in four of his last six games, is averaging 14.3 points, 12.2 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.0 blocks during the stretch. … The Spurs’ three young stars — Victor Wembanyama, Stephon Castle, and Dylan Harper — have missed a combined 17 games this month because of injuries. The trio has not played together since Nov. 2. … Even so, San Antonio has won three of its last four games. … This is the second game of a four-game trip for the Spurs, who opened with a 111-102 loss at Phoenix on Sunday. … The Blazers completed a three-game with a 115-103 win at Milwaukee on Monday. Jerami Grant scored a season-high 35 points, Deni Avdija recorded 22 points and five assists and Clingan added 14 points, 11 rebounds and four assists in the win.

Portland: Shaedon Sharpe (right calf strain) is questionable and Scoot Henderson (left hamstring tear), Damian Lillard (left Achilles tendon), Matisse Thybulle (left thumb surgery), Blake Wesley (right foot fracture) and Jrue Holiday (right calf strain) are out.
San Antonio: Dylan Harper (left calf strain) is questionable and Victor Wembanyama (left calf strain), Stephon Castle (left hip flexor strain) and Jordan McLaughlin (left hamstring strain) are out.
