SAN ANTONIO — If you’re flying out for Thanksgiving, officials say to expect large crowds although slightly less than last year.

TSA says nearly 16,000 travelers were screened at the San Antonio Airport on Tuesday and we saw similar numbers today.

Thanksgiving Day will be a busy one but Friday should be lighter, with only around 9,000 travelers here locally, the lowest predicted through December 2.

The busiest days at our airport will be this Sunday with nearly 21,000 travelers followed by Monday with about 19,000.

Overall, TSA expects 3 million people to be screened nationwide this Sunday, making it one of the top 10 busiest days for them.

Travelers are encouraged to arrive early, have their ID ready, and ensure carry-on bags don’t contain any prohibited items.
