PHILADELPHIA — The Orlando Magic defeated the 76ers, 144-10, Tuesday night in Philadelphia, led by Anthony Black’s team-high 31 points to go with 4 three pointers and 3 assists.
The 31 points were also a career high for Black.
Franz Wagner of the Magic added an additional 21 points (8-13 FG, 1-2 3P) and 5 rebounds in the game.
Tyrese Maxey finished with a team-high 20 points along with 4 assists for the 76ers in the losing effort. The Magic improve their record to 11-8 with the win, while the 76ers fall to 9-8 for the season.
The 144 points scored by Orlando were a season high and the fifth most in franchise history. The last time it scored 140-plus was on April 5, 2019, against the Hawks when they put up 149.
Where Black and the rest of the Magic thrived most was in transition. This is no surprise, of course, as Orlando has been among the best at pushing the pace after getting stops and forcing turnovers this season.
The Magic totaled 25 fast-break points, many of them in the second quarter, when they outscored the Sixers 51-25. Those 51 points are the most the Magic have ever scored in a quarter in franchise history, and the 86 points they accumulated in the first half were also a team record high for points in a half.
“It was our defense. We decided to turn up the defense on a different level, and it got us easy baskets, easy runouts,” Magic head coach Jamahl Mosley said. “They were mixing the defenses up, trying to stall us out a little bit, and I think our guys did a very good job of keeping their focus on what we needed to do offensively – sharing it, moving it, playing faster after getting our stops.”

It was in the second quarter when Black did most of his scoring damage, tallying 20 in that time. It was the 23rd time in Magic history a player scored 20-plus in a quarter, and incredibly, it also happened in Orlando’s previous game at Boston when Jett Howard scored 22 of his career-high 30 points in the fourth.
The last time a team had a player with a 20-plus-point quarter in consecutive games was, ironically, Philadelphia’s Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey (Feb. 7 and 9, 2025).
In Tuesday’s blowout win, the Magic shot 53 percent from the floor overall and 38 percent from 3-point range. They also handed out a season-best 38 assists.
