With Steph Curry sidelined, look for Brandin Podziemski to boost his production and help carry the Warriors as they face the Pelicans.

The Golden State Warriors have been struggling as of late, and they’ll be without Steph Curry on Saturday when the New Orleans Pelicans visit the Bay Area.

Curry’s past absences have meant strong production for Brandin Podziemski, and my Pelicans vs. Warriors predictions expect Podz to step up again tonight.

Here are my best free NBA picks for Saturday’s matchup at Chase Center on November 29.

Pelicans vs Warriors prediction

Pelicans vs Warriors best bet: Brandin Podziemski Over 23.5 points + rebounds + assists (-110)

Brandin Podziemski is averaging just 19.7 PRA this season, but his splits with and without Steph Curry are notable for tonight’s matchup.

With Curry available, Podz has averaged 18.5 PRA across 27.6 minutes. In four games with Curry on the sideline, he’s averaged 24.9 PRA across 30.5 minutes. Podziemski posted at least 25 PRA in two of those contests, including a 30 PRA performance in his last game without Curry.

The New Orleans Pelicans banged-up defense offers a favorable matchup for Podz. New Orleans has allowed the fifth-most points, fifth-most assists and 10th-most rebounds to opponents this season.

I expect a higher-scoring game at Chase Center tonight, and with Curry sidelined and Jonathan Kuminga banged up, Podziemski should take on a larger role as a scorer and facilitator. I’ll bet the Over on this combo line up to 25.5.

Derik Queen has averaged 5.6 assists across his last eight games, hitting the Over four times and dishing at least four dimes in four of them. He logged only 23 minutes in his last game out but handed out a career-high nine assists.

Both the Pelicans and Golden State Warriors have hit the Over in four of their last six games. Scoring options may be limited, but so will each team’s defense. This is a modest point total, and I’ll comfortably take the Over.

Brandin Podziemski Over 23.5 points + rebounds + assists
Derik Queen Over 4.5 assists

Our “from downtown” SGP: Bey Watch

With Herb Jones sidelined, Saddiq Bey has started each of New Orleans’ last three games and recorded a double-double in all of them. He should remain with the first unit tonight, and a double-double against the undersized Warriors is certainly in the cards.
