When the University of Michigan women’s basketball team looks for a spark off the bench it calls on Te’Yala Delfosse.

The former Ewing High star is having a breakout sophomore season for the nation’s No. 6-ranked team.

Delfosse registered her first career double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Detroit Mercy in the Wolverines’ most recent game against Detroit Mercy on Nov. 26.

She had a career high 21 points in 20 minutes in the Wolverines, 81-55, win over Syracuse on Nov. 23.  In the Wolverines’ lone loss, a 72-69 setback against No. 1 UConn, Delfosse had seven points and nine rebounds.

Delfosse is averaging 11.9 points, a team high 6.1 rebounds and has five blocks.

Michigan is next in action on Dec. 3 against Central Michigan.

Rios, McAuliffe Named All-Centennial Conference

Aaron Rios (Steinert) was named to the All-Centennial Conference first team from Ursinus as a defensive lineman.

Rios, a senior, repeated his All-Centennial selection from a year ago and was named to the first team for the first time in his career.

Rios paced the Centennial Conference with 15.5 tackles for loss and ranked second in the Centennial with 5.5 sacks.

He ranked third on the team with 50 tackles (33 solo) while forcing and recovering a fumble.

Patrick McAuliffe (Hamilton West) was named to the All-Centennial Conference second team as an offensive lineman from Gettysburg.

McAuliffe, a senior, earned his first spot on the all-conference team starting all 10 games, he anchored an offensive line that paved the way for a rush offense that ran for 166.0 yards per game, which ranked fourth on the conference.

The line also allowed zero or one sack in six games this season and three or fewer in all 10 games. The 12 total sacks allowed this season was fourth in the conference.

Evaldi Earns NJAC Honor

Beth Evaldi (Hun) earned her second NJAC Diver of the Week recognition of the season after sweeping both diving events at the TCNJ Invitational.

The College of New Jersey senior won the 1-meter competition with an 11-dive score of 431.55 and captured the 3-meter event with 428.20.

Both scores rank first in the NJAC, with her 1-meter mark sitting fifth in Division III and her 3-meter score ranking sixth nationally.

Mahana Patriot League Diver of the Week

Zein Mahana (Princeton) was named the Patriot League Diver of the Week from Boston University

Mahana, a junior, posted a pair of top-five finishes at the Terrier Invitational, helping Boston University place second out of eight teams.

He placed third in the one-meter dive (292.15) and followed with a fifth-place finish in the three-meter board (303.30).

Jeffers-Viera NJAC Rookie of the Week

Malachi Jeffers-Viera (WW-P North) was named NJAC Rookie of the Week after averaging 11.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.0 blocks, and 2.0 assists during a 1-1 week for Kean.

He tallied 11 points, four rebounds, one assist, one steal, and a block against Alvernia, then contributed 12 points, six rebounds, three assists, one steal, and three blocks in a win over Baruch.

The 2024-25 Trentonian CVC Player of the Year is second among all NJAC players with 1.3 blocks per game.

Coit Named Big Ten Player of the Week

David ‘Diggy’ Coit, a Columbus native who played at both Northern Burlington and Princeton Day, was named the Big Ten Player of the Week after leading Maryland to a 95-90 overtime win over Mount St. Mary’s.

Coit, a graduate student, poured in 41 points in the overtime thriller as he scored 16 of Maryland’s final 19 points.

The 41-points are the third highest in Terrapin history

Football: Matt Surtz (Robbinsville) has rushed for 1,049 yards for Susquehanna in his career and he’ll be in the backfield as it faces Christopher Newport and Brandon Shipley (Nottingham) will be on defense for Susquehanna. …Jordan Scipio (Notre Dame) has 36 tackles on the season for Salisbury and will be in the secondary when it faces Endicott in the NCAA Tournament. …Milan Desai (Hopewell Valley) is a back-up quarterback for Johns Hopkins as in faces Springfield in the second round of the NCAA. …Declan MacCabe (Notre Dame) has appeared in all 10 Franklin & Marshall games at linebacker and Walter Cordero (Hamilton West) has been on the offensive line for F & M and they will be facing Eastern in the NCAA’s. …Christopher Rausch Jr. (Pennsbury) started on the offensive line for Muhlenberg in an NCAA win over Union. …Enrikue Viramontes (Morrisville), Cam’Ron Crawley (Truman), Uriah Smart (Pennsbury), Jason Cunningham (Neshaminy) and Devon Miranda (Neshaminy) will be with Eastern in the NCAA’s. …Tolu Olajide (Lawrenceville) was a CAA First team selection from New Hampshire on the offensive line. …Bryson Amos-Whitfield (Perkiomen/West Windsor resident) has 10 points and eight rebounds for Franklin & Marshall in a win over Eastern.
