The Golden State Warriors will be seeking a much-needed win over the hapless New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday night, but they’ll have to do so without their star guard.

Steph Curry will miss the game against the Pelicans due to a quad injury. He has been officially ruled out of the contest.

Steph Curry won’t play vs. Pelicans due to quad injury

Curry suffered during Golden State’s recent 104-100 loss to the Houston Rockets. He is expected to miss around a week of game action due to the injury, which is a relief to the Warriors organization, as Curry appears to have avoided a more serious injury.

“It’s a big relief,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said of the injury. “You always worry when Steph goes down that it’s something that’s going to keep him out for a while. So, the fact that we’re taking it by the week and doesn’t appear to be anything too serious is a great sign. It gives us relief for sure.”

On the season, Curry is averaging 27.9 points, 4.0 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 1.3 steals.
