As the NBA season rolls on, the Sacramento Kings have emerged as one of the more disappointing teams across the league. Despite the team reaching the postseason (Play-In Tournament) a year ago, the Kings have started the season off extremely slowly.

This has created all sorts of tension around the organization, and there are now rumors swirling around this team. Many around the NBA believe that the Kings are going to “blow” things up with the roster and enter into a rebuild.

If this were to happen, there could be multiple moves made, and teams across the NBA will be watching Sacramento closely. Even without the success on the court, the Kings still have talent on the roster, and this could see them be engaged in all sorts of trade talks.

One player that could easily be moved is veteran forward DeMar DeRozan, and it seems that he is already garnering trade interest around the league. DeRozan remains an effective scoring option on the court, and contending teams could look to bring him into the fold for the remainder of the season.

The veteran has one more year on his current contract after this season, and he is scheduled to make $25.7 million for next year. Any team that would trade for him would be taking this on, but at least DeRozan doesn’t have a large number of years to work with.

Sacramento could likely net some strong assets for DeRozan, and this could see a move go down. But how this all happens remains to be seen, and it may take until the trade deadline for things to fall into place.

Philadelphia 76ers Will Trade For DeMar DeRozan

One team that could make a run at the former All-Star is the Philadelphia 76ers. Philadelphia has stars Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid on the roster, but they are lacking a third shot creator to help round out the team.

If this team wants to make noise in the playoffs, they need someone who can get their own shot when defenses close in on the half-court. DeRozan is exactly the type of player that can do this, and he could likely make this offense even more dynamic.

The veteran still has explosive footwork and an ability to score the basketball, which is something that the 76ers could use. Since he operates mainly in the mid-ranger, his game could fit in very nicely next to the pace of Maxey and the physicality of Embiid on the floor.

While this wouldn’t be the big slashy move that some fans may want the team to make, it could end up being the best option for this team. Philadelphia has to maximize this window right now, and adding someone like DeRozan could go a long way for this squad this year.
