More News: Bulls’ Josh Giddey sends urgent warning to team

Chicago has lost three games in a row to basement dwellers. Following defeats to the New Orleans Pelicans and Charlotte Hornets, the Bulls were outgunned in the final seconds as the Indiana Pacers knocked them out 103-101 in front of 17,006 fans at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

That was the Pacers fourth win of the season.

The Bulls double-team of Matas Buzelis and Tre Jones allowed Pascal Siakam to make a 14-foot jumper at the last second to win the game.

More News: Bulls’ Billy Donovan suggests team is mentally weak

If there was one good takeaway in the defeat, the Bulls held the Pacers to 103 points, the first time head coach Billy Donovan’s Bulls held an opponent to under 120 points in the last 12 outings.

During his postgame news conference, Donovan argued the team is struggling to control the basketball.

“On drives, that has been a challenge for us where we’ve had the ball driven through us quite honestly to the basket,” Donovan said, via Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times. “I think we have to be better absorbing the first dribble. The rebounding has been a challenge for us; we’ve got to do a better job in those areas.

“I would say our biggest challenge has been the controlling of the basketball, in particular one-on-one and in space.”

The Bulls will try again when they travel to play the 12-8 Orlando Magic on Monday night. Based on Donovan’s analysis, there’s a lot to fix before they even tackle the biggest challenge.
