After hosting and knocking off the top team in the East last week, the Boston Celtics look to take down the second-best team in the East on Tuesday, Dec. 2 when they host the New York Knicks at TD Garden in Boston.

This NBA game is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. EST and will be broadcast on NBC and MSG. Fans looking to watch can do so for free by using DIRECTV, which offers a free trial, or FuboTV, which also offers a free trial as well as up to $30 off your first month. On Coast 2 Coast Tuesdays, those in the Eastern and Central time zones can can watch the early game on NBC but will need Peacock to watch the late game while the Mountain and Pacific time zones need Peacock to watch the early game but will have the late game available on NBC.

The Celtics are playing their third game in four days after splitting a road back-to-back on Saturday and Sunday, losing by 4 to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first leg, and then defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers by 2 in the second. The matchup with the Cavaliers was a 117-115 final, and featured a 42-point effort from Payton Pritchard, and a triple-double from Jaylen Brown. Brown had 19 points, 12 rebounds and 111 assists while Jordan Walsh added a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds to go with two steals and a block. Anfernee Simons added 18 points off the bench, and Xavier Tillman had 9 points, six boards, three steals and a block in his first start of the season. The win moved Boston to 11-9 and gave the team the season series over Cleveland. Now the Celtics turn their attention to a Knicks squad they haven’t seen since the first week of the season in October, when they lost 105-95.

New York enters this matchup at 13-6 and on a four-game winning streak that includes three wins by at least 13 points. The Knicks also last played on Sunday, when they ran through the 14-7 Toronto Raptors, 116-94. OG Anunoby missed the matchup with his former team, but the rest of the starters had no problem showing out in his honor, with Karl-Anthony Towns, Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart combining for 60 points, 26 rebounds and 16 assists, with Hart getting a double-double and also swiping three steals. Miles McBride and Mikal Bridges both went for 14 points with two steals and shot 50% on their 3-point attempts. Jordan Clarkson added 13 off the bench while Mitchell Robins had 15 rebounds, with seven coming on the offensive glass.
