After making a name for himself as a menacing on-court presence, Brooks has fit in smoothly since being traded from the Houston Rockets to Phoenix. He has helped reshape the team’s culture and identity, both of which have fueled the Suns’ strong start to the 2025-26 season.
Brooks’ arrival brought criticism, not only questioning his personality but also whether he could mesh with the Suns’ core. So far, “The Villain” has responded exceptionally well to those doubts.

This season, Brooks is averaging 22.3 points per game in his first year in the Valley, shooting 46.3% from the field, both of which are career highs. He is also averaging 1.7 steals, another personal best. His breakout season has been vital for Phoenix during a stretch defined by injuries to key players.
Despite missing six games with a groin injury, Brooks hasn’t slowed down. He has posted three 30+ point games and six 25+ point performances. Even on nights when the offense stalls, Brooks offers reliable production.

From a stranger to a fast-rising fan favorite, Brooks is only beginning to build his legacy in Phoenix and he’s quickly proving to be one of the offseason’s smartest acquisitions.
