The Mavericks’ never-ending carousel of injuries to their frontcourt continued Wednesday night against the Heat.
Daniel Gafford, who returned to the lineup against Miami after a two-game absence due to right ankle injury management, aggravated the same ankle that has given him trouble all season. In the third quarter, he was battling in the paint and went down holding his right ankle after a bit of an awkward landing.

Gafford was questionable for the game against the Heat but was made available before the game. He didn’t make his season debut until Nov. 1 after spraining his right ankle on Sept. 30 during the first practice of training camp. This is not the first time he has aggravated the injury this season, as he has played in just 15 of the Mavericks’ 23 games so far this season.
