76ers C Joel Embiid (knee) has been upgraded to questionable for tonight’s game vs. the Warriors.

As per usual, you’ve got to keep your head on a swivel when it comes to the 76ers and injury news.

The day started with Joel Embiid being listed as doubtful and Paul George as questionable to suit up for tonight’s contest with the Warriors. Well, it’s not even noon, and that has now changed to Embiid being upgraded to questionable and George being ruled out for injury management. Remember, Philadelphia is playing the first leg of a back-to-back set, as the team will square-off with the Bucks on Friday.

I’m told Joel Embiid’s been upgraded to questionable for Sixers-Warriors and Paul George (left knee injury recovery) has been downgraded to out.

Sixers playing the first leg of a back-to-back tonight, are at Milwaukee tomorrow.

Embiid trending towards being available is certainly interesting. The former MVP returned from a nine-game absence on November 30, logging 30.0 minutes in a double-OT loss to the Hawks. It was easily the most Embiid had been on the floor for a single contest in 2025-26, though that’s not all that high a bar to clear, as the big man has been limited to only seven starts. Embiid’s per 36 numbers remain solid, as he’s averaging 28.8 points and 7.8 rebounds, yet it’s obvious to anyone watching that injuries have taken their toll on the 31-year-old.

That said, Golden State is the exact type of matchup that Embiid could still theoretically dominate. The Warriors’ roster lacks a true center, and because of that, the team ranks in the lower-third of the NBA in total rebounding rate (48.4%) and opponent points in the paint per game (51.7). If he ends up playing, it’s possible we see a vintage Embiid performance this evening — or at least glimpses of one.
