The San Antonio Spurs have been dealing with quite a few injuries to start the 2025-26 season. Most notably among them is Victor Wembanyama, who has only continued to live up to his billing as the franchise’s newest superstar.

While the Spurs are already facing plenty of challenges due to his absence alone, they have others that could certainly hinder their intentions this season. So who is else is out for the Spurs? Here’s what to know.

How Many Spurs are Out With Injury Right Now?

The Spurs currently have three players out due to injury, per ESPN’s NBA Injury Status page. Despite the number of players who have missed games for them, the team has still managed to win against expected playoff teams.

With their most recent win over the Orlando Magic, the Spurs are impressively 15-6 despite not having Victor Wembanyama since November 14. The Spurs star has been dealing with a calf injury, and his official timetable remains ambiguous. However, the estimated timetable for his return is December 17.

As a result, he is not expected to play against the Cleveland Cavaliers tomorrow. Then, there’s Stephon Castle. Castle has missed almost the exact same number of games as Wembanyama, as he hasn’t played since November 16 due to a hip injury. However, there appears to be more certainty about his return, as his expected return date is December 5, meaning he should be available against the Cavaliers.

Finally, there’s Jordan McLaughlin, who hasn’t played since November 7, as he has been dealing with an ongoing hamstring injury. His expected return date is December 8, which means he will not face the Cavaliers tomorrow.

Again, despite all that the Spurs have gone through, they have managed to stay among the top of the West. Much of it has been due to the return of De’Aaron Fox, who has played some excellent basketball for San Antonio since making his season debut on November 8.

Fox is averaging 25 points, 6.3 assists, and 3.6 rebounds while shooting 49.3% from the field and 38.6% from three. The Spurs have gone 9-4 since Fox returned from his injury, with only the first four of those games having been played with Wembanyama before he suffered his calf injury.

If San Antonio is this resilient without two of their very best players, imagine how dangerous they will be down the line when they re-incorporate them. The Spurs came into this season with sizable expectations because of Wembanyama, but their play without him indicates that their roster in general is a nightmare for opponents.
