Santi Aldama scored a team-high 22 points and Zach Edey added a double-double as the Memphis Grizzlies (11-13) defeated the Portland Trail Blazers (9-15) 119-96 Sunday afternoon at FedExForum in Memphis, TN.
Jerami Grant led Portland with 21 points and both Deni Avdija and Shaedon Sharpe each scored 17.
The Grizzlies took control of the game in the first quarter when they built a 20-point lead. The Blazers shot just 27% in the period and committed eight turnovers.
After trailing by 20 at halftime, Portland used a 19-3 run to cut the deficit to just four midway through the third. Memphis responded with a 23-13 run to take a 92-78 lead into the fourth.
The Trail Blazers never threatened in the fourth and Grizzlies used a 7-0 run to push their lead to 18 and put the game away.
Memphis held a 19-9 edge in second chance points, 52-34 edge in the paint, and a 17-8 edge in fast break points.
Up Next- The Trail Blazers will finish up their five-game road trip Thursday evening in New Orleans against the Pelicans. The game is scheduled to tip off at 5:00 PM.
